New Pokémon card sets: release dates for 2026 and every recent set
The newest Pokémon TCG set, the next one coming, and the English release date of every set since Sword & Shield, with links to pull rates for the sets we track.
Guide
Nov 6Delta Reign, the next English Pokémon TCG set, releases November 6, 2026
New to pull rates? The terms in 30 seconds
- “1 in 92 packs”
- On average, you'd open 92 packs to pull one. It's an average, not a promise: you could hit it in pack 3 or go 300 without one.
- SIR (Special Illustration Rare)
- Full-art cards with special artwork. Usually a set's most valuable pulls.
- IR (Illustration Rare)
- Art cards of single Pokémon. More common than SIRs, and often collected as a set.
- Hyper Rare
- The gold cards. Among the rarest pulls in modern sets.
- Double Rare / Ultra Rare
- The ex and full-art cards that make up most of a set's hits.
- Booster box / ETB
- A booster box has 36 packs. An Elite Trainer Box (ETB) has 9, plus sleeves and accessories.

The newest Pokémon TCG set is 30th Celebration, released worldwide on September 16, 2026. The next set is Mega Evolution—Delta Reign, which comes out on November 6, 2026, with prerelease events starting October 24. No English set has been announced for 2027 yet.
Key takeaways
- Newest set: 30th Celebration (September 16, 2026), a special set for the game’s 30th anniversary. It was the first set to launch worldwide on the same day.
- Next set: Delta Reign (November 6, 2026), led by Mega Rayquaza ex. Prerelease events run October 24 to November 1 at Play! Pokémon stores.
- 2027: nothing announced in English. Pokémon has teased a new “ex★” (ex Star) era, and an early-2027 set would fit the usual schedule, but no name or date is official.
- Pokémon releases a new English set about every two months: four or five main sets a year, plus special sets.

How Pokémon schedules new sets#
- Roughly every two months. Main sets usually land in late January or February, March, May, July or August, and November, with special sets like 151, Prismatic Evolutions, and 30th Celebration slotted in between.
- Announced about three months ahead. The Pokémon Company names a set and its release date a few months before launch, then reveals cards in the weeks before release.
- English sets follow Japanese ones. Most English sets combine cards from one or two Japanese sets released a few months earlier, which is why collectors watch Japanese releases to guess what’s next.
- Prereleases come first. Play! Pokémon stores hold prerelease tournaments in the two weekends before launch, and the set appears in Pokémon TCG Live a day or so before store release.
What to do on release day#
New sets sell fast, and prices for sealed product and chase cards are at their most volatile in the first weeks. Two of our guides help:
- Booster box vs ETB vs booster bundle compares what you get per pack in each product.
- When does Target restock Pokémon cards? covers how big-box stores stock new sets.
Once a set has enough verified pack openings, we publish its measured pull rates. See every set we track.
Where these dates come from#
Dates are English (North American) release dates from The Pokémon Company’s official set pages and announcements, last checked Oct 8, 2026. Dates for the sets we track come from our evidence registry. Regional dates can differ by a day.
