Visit populated areas with multiple PokéStops.
Look for and travel to Pokestops. Spin the disk when you are there for free items.
Hunt in a group.
Capture all available Pokemon (you gain XP).
Wait until you're a higher level to power up and evolve.
Drop lures and incense if you don't want to hunt.
Look for moving leaves for random Pokémon spawns.
To make catching easier, turn AR off.
If you are low on Poke Balls, PokéStops refresh their stock about every 5 minutes.
Get bonuses when throwing Poke Balls.
Nice 10XP bonus - Throw the Poke Ball so that it hits when the circle is the widest.
Great 50XP bonus - Throw the Poke Ball so that it hits when the circle is exactly halfway.
Excellent 100XP bonus - Throw the Poke Ball so that it hits in the center when the circle is the smallest.
Curveball 10XP bonus - Spin the Poke Ball in a clockwise or counter clockwise direction and you will see stars flying around it and toss the ball aimed at the opposite direction of which direction you were spinning it. For example, if I am spinning the ball counter clockwise then I want to toss it towards the left. This method also tends to make it easier to catch the Pokémon.
Always catch those PIDGEYS - they are key to leveling up in the game.
Use Maps to find Poké location sightings.
Be picky with your Stardust and Candy - like I said you should wait until you're a higher level to use it.
Match up Pokémon with their opposing types before a battle. GamePress's Pokémon Go page also has a roster of the most powerful Pokémon you can currently evolve for each type.
Take over a neutral gym.
Dodge at the start of each battle.
Look at the Pokemon's CP and moveset before transferring it to Professor Willow for Candy.
Incense works best when you move.
Riding a bike is a great way to rack up the kilometers to hatch an egg.
You can save battery power by turning on the app's Battery Save mode which you can switch on in the settings screen. This may be helpful if you're just hatching eggs.
It’s most effective to look for Pokémon at habitats that match where they're most likely to live. For example: Water and Psychic type can be found near beaches and bodies of water. 22. Use your Lucky Egg with a lure or incense to rack up the XP points. (Lucky Eggs double the XP for any action for 30 minutes)

23. When using your Lucky Egg, evolve lots of low cost Pokémon first (ex. Pidgey, Weedle, Caterpies which cost 12 candies each)
